URGENT: How to reset BIOS settings to default without display in monitor.

Hello Everyone,

I made some changes on my BIOS and after that my computer won't start. 🙁
While booting it gives "peep...peep...peep" sound three times and there is no visual on the monitor.

I think it is due to the changes I made on the BIOS but now, I tried these methods to reset BIOS but none of them is wroking.
Methods I Tried:

1. Removing CMOS battery and inserted back after 15 minutes.
2. Changing the place of jumper on motherboard.
3. Changing RAM.
4. Removing all extra add-ons except monitor and mouse.

Please help me! It's urgent.

CPU Configs:
Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E4500
(2M Cache, 2.20 GHz, 800 MHz FSB)
3 GB DDR2 RAM
250 GB SATA HDD

after you moved the jumper you put it back right?

pull ram modules and re-seat them. what happens?

If none of that worked its probably not your bios. Look up the beep code in your motherboard manual. If its not a custom build, find your PCs manual online if you do not still have it and find out what it means.

Hey.
In order to do that you need to do the following:
1- shutdown pc
2- open side panel of pc
3- ground yourself by holding on to the pc case for a few seconds
4- locate BIOS battery (See here for lots of examples of what it looks like L: https://www.google.com.au/search?q=bios+battery&hl=en&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=hKVGUdSNIOP2mAWFr4GIAg&sqi=2&ved=0CE0QsAQ&biw=1920&bih=955)
5- remove battery (you will need to push the clip holding the battery down to the side for the battery to pop out)
6- wait around 20 to 30 seconds and put battery back
7- close case and power up pc

That should do it. There is another option to use a jumper, but that is a bit more complicated.

RAM modules..?? Actually i am not so perfect on H/W ... plz tell me what are RAM modules?

Thanx soo much for the reply... but i have already mentioned that I have tried reseting the BIOS/CMOS battery and the jumper too

how exactly did you reset jumper? it's a 3 pin switch with first and second pin's connected with a clip. You must move the clip to short pins two and three. Next you need to boot up your pc. load BIOS defaults/Reset BIOS. save, exit and shutdown. next move the jumper clip back to the original position and boot up.

In the whole process, keep the motherboard battery plugged in.
though the below link is for an Intel board, the BIOS resetting options for jumper settings are pretty standard.

After removing the cmos battery try shorting the battery terminals with a small screwdriver. The resetting jumper should actually do that but there seem to be a problem. Shorting the battery terminals should do it.

NEVER boot your system back up with the jumper on pins 2-3 NEVER! You must power down move the jumper to pins 2-3 wait a few seconds THEN move the jumper back to pins 1-2. When you boot up you can then go into the bios and select optimized defaults and change what ever settings you need from there.

^ there is a reason for a link in that post. Get to jumper configurations in that and you'll see you can (and if situation call for it,have to) boot up with jumper at pins 2-3.

pin position is not merely for resetting you BIOS. it is for "Configuring" it which will need a boot.

1- try boot without battery, if still the same then something else
2- remove RAM and boot, if beep pattern doesn't change then it is something regarding your RAM. Get a small brush and remove dust from RAM slots, insert RAM and boot again
3- does your graphics card require a power cable and if it does, is it plugged in? Happened to me before 😛
4- can also try using different RAM slots with different RAM configurations
5- what did you do exactly to make it stop? Might have nuked your RAM or motherboard

Again... look up the beep code your PC is giving you. It may not be your BIOS.

some one already suggested checking ram modules and three beeps is usually ram refresh error code. Agree with Dia that it may not be your BIOS after all.
