My 680W PSU is dying... my pc freezes under heavy load and stress tests, while temps are around 60c (CPU) and 65c (GPU), so i need a decent and cheap PSU asap!
I found this
http://www.skytechshop.gr/hardware/power-supplies/sharkoon-wpm700-v2-atx-80plus-bronze
it's on the roof of my current budget (baby boy is in the house, so not a lot of cash remain for me 😛)
Is it any good?
My rig is:
i7 860
Asrock H55m
8gb ram
Gtx 970
1 samsung ssd
1 WD hdd

my current psu is a Silver Power Gorilla SP-SS650 80+ bronze, bought back in 2009, and at the speqs it reads:
+3.3v 24A
+5v 30A
+12v1 18A
+12v2 18A
+12v3 18A
+12v4 18A
-12v 0.8A
+5Vsb 3A
Is indeed the psu failing due to overheating for example, or the amperage is not adequate for my system?

I'm not familiar with that PSU, but other Silver Power's are made by Seasonic. It may be a decent PSU and it has enough wattage, but that doesn't mean it hasn't failed. I would uninstall the Nvidia driver with Display Driver Uninstaller and then reinstall the latest driver. If that doesn't work, maybe borrow another 500 watt plus PSU and test it before you buy another one.

i just recovered from another freeze, while stress testing and monitoring voltages... I started off with with Prime95, run it for 30minutes and +12v was at 12.04v. Then i tested Furmark, and 20min later the system was stable, and +12v was at 11.99V. At that time, i launched Prime95 to stress the cpu at the same time, voltage dropped at 11.94v. 3 minutes later, the pc froze... When i try to boot, i get 2 short, 8 long beeps. The back of the PSU is pretty hot. 5 minutes later, i can boot with no problem... any suggestion? should i start another thread at troubleshooting about this?
