So I am on phone will provide as much as I can. I got a gtx 1060 yesterday and was excited to swap out my 760 so I also never really messed with pc before but watched videos and got the basics. I got my old one out and put new one in, it was a little different just one 6 pin but figured that out and got it installed right. Closed case and plugged in pc. When I powered it started the normal boot sequence but then it went to a screen saying press f1 to run BIOS setup, but they keyboard light was on and completely unresponsive, caps locks wouldn't turn on nothing. So I tried putting old card back in, I read that I may need BIOS update. Then I got same thing. Removed card trying to use on board and still same thing. So somehow I messed something up with my motherboard just putting in a new graphics card it seems. Is there anything else I can Try? Really depressed have no clue what I am going to do if I can get this working. Can't even manage to install a graphics card 🙁. The graphics card seems to work fine, fan goes on and is displaying.

Here is pic of screen it is going to, which will tell you my specs too.

At this point I might buy a new pc because I can't build one myself probably, and can't wait very long with no computer. If anyone can help I'm desperate.

Solution
Did you uninstall the GPU driver before you replaced? It's odd that it's occurring at BIOS/POST, but incompatible drivers can cause a bunch of different issues.

What type of keyboard are you using? USB I assume? Wireless or wired?
Well I ment to reply not choose answer, dang phone lol. I will try clearing cmos, just have no clue where to really begin or what to look for will look up guide on it I guess

De-selected it for you.

Not sure if there will be a jumper on that board. Removing the battery will serve the same purpose (little round watch type battery). Wait 10 mins & reinstall it and attempt to boot.

Normally I would consider the PSU too, but it seems less likely here. If your old PSU was sufficiently powering a 760 (I assume it was stable, no crashes etc?) then a 1060 should be a power saving of ~50W. Not to say it's not at fault, but it's less likely in this scenario.

Out of curiosity, what is the make/model of your PSU?

I just followed the manual instructions and used the jumper to try and reset cmos, normal position was 1 and 2, put it on 2 and 3 for like 15 seconds it said 10 but that thing is tiny lol and took me a bit, then I put it back on 1 and 2. Plugged pc back in and powered on. Nothing changed same screen, same issue with not being able to use keyboard.

I am using a USB wired keyboard, I did take it out of usb 3.0 slot and put in usb 2.0 to see if that would work. I might look for another keyboard but I don't think it has anything to do with keyboard. I used ddu to remove old gpu drivers before I installed new card.

I can't believe it was the keyboard... Just plugged in regular really old keyboard and was able to press f1. now my regular keyboard is working fine lol so weird. Guess it just don't work in BIOS. Computer is booted with new gpu lmao.
