yup....

http://us.games-workshop.com/news/current/spill1.htm

Effective July 6, 2005, select items in Games Workshop's product range will
be increasing in price. Every year we will review our range and we will only
have one review a year. Our next price review will happen in July 2006.
Please follow the link here for a complete listing of all affected products,
their current price, and their new adjusted price.

Well you know those sand paper condoms don't come cheap, GW needs to
get some funding from somewhere. Rasie the prices to screw over the
customer, whoops, out of condoms, bertter raise the price to by mode
some we can screw over the customer. Kind of a vicious cycle isn't it?

Basically, regiments/squads go up to $35 across the board, paints to
$3, and all other modeling supplies go up.

But remember, it's not a price increase. It's a "price adjustment."

A tape measure that costs ten dollars... *shakes head* And it doesn't
even come with a clip. Or a bottle of lube. Maybe I'll use the eight
dollar tweezers to fit it up there...

Normally I'd say nobody forces you to buy, but as an added bonus they
also nixed Camo Green spray! Woo hoo!

And it's only once a year Erik, don't forget *that*...

much more...

It only seems a couple of months since you lot last had one of these...

Translation: start saving now, kids.

And to think people in the UK complain when we have a price rise every
three years or so - I can't for the life of me see how GW-US can
justify this when US prices are already higher than UK ones *following
our price rise this April*.

Hmmmm, plasic box sets go up from $30 to $35. Didn't they raise
these up to $30 recently? Maybe it's just time flying by....

DARN (he curses, savagely)! Jeez, I finally bit the
bullet and bought some of these to check on what
was what with the *new and improved* plastic
models -- EXCELLENT models -- even SOME
few bitz (seemed kind'a like to me almost enough
just to really *tease* a buyer into poneyin' up for
more boxed sets, or resort to... no, NONE of us
do that! I'm freaked man -- $3.00 per each 1"
tall plastic model is really reaching for me. As an
individual model, it really doesn't seem so bad,
but shouldn't the price go DOWN when the
quantity you buy goes UP? Everybody is sick
of the GW-price whinin', but I'm gonna anyway:
I live on Social Security Disability Insurance (I
PAID for it, it is NOT a handout!), and in the
nearly 15 years since that became my income, I
only have had *raises* bringing me up from
about 10k back when to JUST BREAKING
13k now (FIFTEEN YEARS!). I genuinely am
gonna be priced COMPLETELY out of the GW
hobby quite soon, and there's not one danged
thing I can do about it. Well, I can knock my
head against things (more than usual), and I can
scream and rail and break things (again, more
than usual), but while cathartic, it doesn't seem
to get anything else accomplished. It's bad
enough that life is this hard -- why's one of my
all-time favorite hobbies gotta make things
consistently WORSE?

And when I bought that bagged set (at Wal-
denbooks, of all places!) of a box of Crimson
Fists (THIRTY SIX individual, build 'em by
pieces parts (just like today) very cool science
fictional type miniatures), the paint and other li'l
guides, and the Rogue Trader book back in
'90 or so for about $30.00, it all seemed so...
innocent! I've been tabletop wargaming (with
figures instead o' tanks'n'such <G>) now for
almost 30 years, and it looks like the power-
that-is that has made my all-time, hands-
down, no-questions-about-it, favorite best
miniatures for at least three quarters of that
time is about to push me right out in the
metaphorical *rain*. SIGH....

WAIT! I know! Even tho' everyone else
out there is in the same boat I find about to
capsize, let's all take up a "Let's All Make
Bubba Happy for General Principles Cash
Collection." Lessee... enough for... just
ONE completely-tricked-out-everything-
included-and-then-some complete Space
Marine (anything but Space Wolves <G>)
*Army*? Whaddaya say, guys (by now
y'all should know that *guys* indicates a
genderless pronoun meant to encompass
*ever'body* in the group <G>)? Just
think of the feelings of satisfaction you'll
all experience through the wonderful act
of GIVING. Hmm... strangely enough,
my local Hobbytown owner didn't seem to
be havin' any (just called 'im to check)... I
wonder if I could get X-to-the-Z to do a
special one-time-only PIMP MY HOBBY
show?

Nice try. No soldiers from this body.

Feel honored, it took me 10-15 seconds to force my software to select that

I paid $12 for mine, of course it's a 25' tape and is made for the rough
treatment that Carpenters generally give their tapes...

I like how GW needs to charge an extra dollar for white glue ($7), and
an extra couple for sand ($8)...

Still, at least GW showed some restraint by not bumping jungle foliage
up to $50.

Anyhow, interesting looking at the sheer number of regiment boxes WFB
has gotten for WFB6, compared to plastic sets for 40k3/4.

That's hilarious. I remember someone a while back posting on
DakkaDakka that he bought an Ogre Kingdoms Battalion from the GW UK
website. The same box that cost $135 here only cost him about $92.50
to order from the UK - *including* S&H.

I told my local games store about this (They hadn't been notified yet)
and they said they'd put together a big order to beef up thier stock
before the price changes happen. This is also cool because they won;t
just up it to $35 on existing stock like some places do. I've seen
places that have 3 price stickers on some things.

It must be expensiuve as hell to but sand in such a small bag! Still I
like the $7 for whate glue. That big GW on the side is expensive! Why it
must cost them pennies for each one. That's why they charge a dollar!

You know the cost of plastic these days, they had to raise the price in
order to be able to afford the plastic bottle to put the glue in!
