USB 3.0 case to motherboard problem

The cables that run from my USB 3.0 slots on my new case are 19 pin but where it says 'USB_3.0' on my motherboard, there is no pinout. It is just a slot. There is a long part and a small part. What does this mean? Do I need some kind of adapter?

If your motherboard is a new model, it should have a USB 3 header. But if it doesn't, you can buy pcie USB cards that have internal USB header(s)
