Wait for more a couple of years, and maybe you´ll see true 3-way sli, pci-e 3.0, and other cool stuff! Lucky my actual pc can still handle it!

It'll undoubtedly have bugs when it comes out, so don't worry sad panda. I literally will be building my new pc tomorrow... but I knew about usb 3.0 and the like coming out soon. But I also realized I probably wouldn't be using any usb 3.0 devices any time soon... and by the time I do, I'll be ready to upgrade anyway.

Most of the MB will be available with USB3.0 very soon(I heard within 3~4month). I heard there are not much bugs for USB3.0 but I heard it will be updated for speed.

I just got a new laptop though, this sucks, it seems whenever i get something new, something better comes out. Oh well, guess i will just use it on my first desktop i am planning to build, hope they don't come out with something new when i do that.

How are you going to actually get that kind of bandwidth? There's barely 5Gbps of bandwidth between the CPU and the Southbridge in most Intel systems!

I think you mean that Intel barely has 5 GBps (Gigabytes) between the CPU and Southbridge, don't you? USB 3.0 will have 5 Gbps (Gigabits). Makes a big difference.

HOLY BILL GATES IN A APPLE STORE!!! STOP BRINGING CRYSIS UP IN UNRELATED NEWS TOPICS/THREADS!!!! i cant wait for usb 3 flashdrives. :)

If you want your PC have 5 Gbps transfer speeds, the socket should be changed USB3.0, so I think it is a long time before having 5Gbps speed.

What i don't get is, isn't 5gbps roughly 500MB/sec.

The current fastest ssd's are 250MB/s, so it would require 2 of these in raid 0 just to keep up with usb transfer speeds.

I can't see normal consumer desktops making use of this speed for awhile.

Future proof my good friend. It's very hard for everyone to agree on a specific format (ie usb vs firewire or blueray vs hddvd). So better make the new standard as fast as they can.

I wonder how fast will it be transferring data between usb 3.o devices.
USB is a host based interface, and all data needs to pass through the host hub, there is no peer to peer transfer here.
