Hi,
I just purchased a new desktop, HP Pavilion 500-530no, detailed specs are here:
http://support.hp.com/nl-nl/document/c04655906

I have Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit and I have installed all the accurate drivers as far as I know.
One of the things I can't get to work are the USB 3.0 ports. All USB 2.0 ports are working.
In device manager there are yellow exclamation marks next to 2 x "Unknown device", I assume they are for 1) the USB 3.0 ports on front and 2) the USB 3.0 ports on the back. The hardware ID's for both devices are the same though:
AMDUSB30\ROOT_HUB30&VID_1022&PID_7814&REV_0009&SID_2B35103C
AMDUSB30\ROOT_HUB30&VID_1022&PID_7814&REV_0009&SID_2B35103C
I have installed the chipset drivers from AMD's website, and the website did mention "Vista" in the drivers specs, so it's supposed to be compatible with Vista. What do I need to do to get the USB 3.0 ports to work? I have heard there is a way in the BIOS to set the USB 3.0 ports to work as USB 2.0 ports, that would be my last resort though, as I own several external harddrives that are USB 3.0 compatible and world really like to take advantage of the USB 3.0 speed, and this chipset is supposed to work in Windows Vista if I understand the AMD website correct.
Any help appreciated. If you need more info, please let me know, thanks.

Did you install the AMD chipset drivers? These ones for 64 bit Vista:

AMD Chipset Drivers

If so, you may need to have to manually install them via the Device Manager. This would entail going under the driver tab and selecting Update Driver. Then Browse your computer > Let Me Pick Blah Blah > Have Disk and then guide it to the AMD folder where the USB drivers are.

That is weird. Windows should either install the driver or say it's not the right driver. Since this is Unknown Hardware, there is no driver installed thus it can't be the right one.
