Question USB 3.2 Gen 1 Header to 19-pin and type E ?

Hello,

My mainboard has one single USB 3.2 Gen 1 19-pin header which supports 2 ports.

However, the front panel of my case has a type A port which can be connected via a 19-pin cable and a type C port which can be connected via a type E cable.

Currently, I can only connect the type A port, but I would like to use both ports in the front panel. Is there a way to split the header? (It is clear that the USB 3.2 Gen 1 will only support 5 Gbps and that's OK).

I have seen splitter cables for 1 x 19-pin to 2 x 19-pin and I have seen the 19-pin to type E adapters. But as I can only rarely find these 19-pin Y-cables/splitters, I ask myself if they will work (as the header is said to support two ports, but not two headers) and if I can use them (together with a 19-pin type E adapter) to connect both ports on my front panel, the type A and the type C?

Make and model of your case? Make and model of your motherboard? Splitters for power deliveries tend to be root cause of fires. As for adapter/splitters for USB ports, they tend to cause instability issues.

It is a Fractal Design Terra Case and a AsRock B550M-ITX/ac mainboard

A single USB 3.2 Gen 1 Header (19 pin) on the mainboard and a 19 pin connector for the USB type A port and a type E connector for the USB type C port in the front panel.
