Don't rush to burry SATA too soon. SATA at today is cheap and abundant way how to extend your storage with minimal expenses. And it just works. SATA connector take very little space on motherboard and is easy to use. M.2 drives are harder to install (adding another drive often require partial cooling disassembly and board removal). M.2 drive fastening screw format (not M2 and not M3) where screws even doesn't match between motherboards, is one of stupidest things, ones who invented this, must be tried and punished for crime against humanity. I still hope that something more convenient than M.2 with easier to use connector will appear.
