Question USB-C Portable Monitor as Primary Monitor

I recently completed a new build with a Intel Pentium G4600T processor and an ASUS Z270-A motherboard; OS is Windows 10 Pro. I'm using the integrated graphics and would like to use my ASUS MB16AC portable monitor as the primary monitor via the USB-C connector on the motherboard. When I use both the portable monitor and an HDMI monitor together, it works fine (as extended, duplicate, or only the portable monitor with the other monitor black). However, when I unplug the HDMI monitor I only get the desktop showing on my portable monitor. It's as if all windows are opening on another monitor even though it isn't connected. Any ideas?
