Question USB-C to DP cable

Hey there!

I recently got a new monitor that I wanted to connect to my laptop. The monitor has support for 1440p @ 280hz via DisplayPort 1.4, and my laptop has a "1 x USB 3.2 (2 Gen) Type-C/ DisplayPort" port. I was wondering if there are any USB-C to DP (1.4) cables that support up to 1440p @ 280hz? Do I need to watch out for anything when getting a cable, like DSC? Are there any other solutions anyone would recommend?

Thank you, that's helpful. So in that case, will any USB-C to DP cable stating that it can support up to 2K @ 240hz, work for 280hz (via DSC)? Would a cable that states that it supports up to 4K @ 120hz work as well? Do not all cables have DSC that convert USB-C to DP 1.4? I heard that using DSC will require less bandwith for 1440p @ 280hz than even 1440p @ 240hz, so a cable that states 2K @ 240hz should be fine, right? Or are there other aspects to consider? Thanks for the answers!

Dsc is part of Displayport and Usbc uses DP protocol so more or less the same. Go with a cable that has sold many to avoid non compliant cables / not made properly because they'll be out there. Just like Displayport, where Vesa (Displayport founder), had to introduce certification program to stamp out poorly designed cables. Club3D is another that are Vesa certified. Startech and Accell some others.
