I bought a USB-C to Ethernet adapter to replace my USB 3.0 to Ethernet adapter.3.0 to Ethernet works without any issues but USB-C to Ethernet seems to be connected(It even identifies the provider) but websites do not load. Windows says it's about DNS.I tried ipconfig/renew, it says media is disconnected.I tried flushdns it didn't change anything.I tried to use automatic DNS and IP, I tried to use IPs and DNSes given by my network provider.I tried to uninstall and reinstall the driver and none of them worked.Thank you for your time

I'm going to ignore the issue with the new adapter for now and will ask why did you get a new adapter? Even USB 2 speeds are plenty for an Ethernet connection for 95% of uses, especially with online speeds.

Easiest thing would be to just use the USB 3 adapter you have that works.

If you still want to spend time getting the new one working, how is everything connected? Directly to a modem, a router, a network jack, etc...? Do you get the correct IP on the network card? Try different ports and cables? Try using DHCP for the IP and set the DNS to the Google one, 8.8.8.8

I didn't have enough ports that's why I bought it in the first place. I solved the issue, my internet provider asks for our MAC addresses and then restricts the incoming connection to that particular MAC address(I am staying in a university dormitory). I didn't know that when I change the adapters that would change my MAC address. I gave the new MAC address to the provider and now It works like a charm and I have both my USB 3.0 ports empty for use. Thanks for your effort and time to solve my issue though.
