Hi. Just a long-shot question. Are there any hardware or software that will extract just the data byte from the USB data stream? i.e; if I press the letter A on the (USB) keyboard, is there a way just to "see" the "letter A" byte representation in either some software or hardware (read) buffer? Thank you.

Sounds like a keyboard logger.
Which is a sensitive topic, since it is security related. Tread carefully ...
