USB Devices not working

My usb devices are not connecting to my PC. All but one of them work, and the one that works shows an error message when connected saying I need to scan and fix it. In device manager, I get a code 31 error. I have tried to update the drivers but they all say they are up to date. Any ideas?

Every usb mass storage device that i've tried does not. My camera, phone, other usbs etc. The one that does work is my most used usb flash drive

I have tried numerous usb flash drives that work on other computers, my camera, the sd card through a card reader, and my phone. Other non storage usb devices seem to work fine, however, such as my mouse, pen tablet, keyboard, headphones etc.

Digital cameras, mobile phones, printers, and other USB peripherals besides flash disks need specific drivers in order to communicate and work properly with your PC's USB ports unless they're marked as plug 'n play devices.

I have an HP z600 running windows 7 64 bit

I am aware of that, I have the drivers installed, but i get error code 31 in the device manager. I have tried to update them but windows says they're up to date.

My usb ports are all 2.0 so those did not work

Have you tried installing those drivers and got an error message? those are specific drivers for your USB controllers.

Yes it said that I do not have any of those usb ports for those controllers.

Try to update your system BIOS
HP Z600 Workstation System BIOS

And also try to install this chipset driver to your system.
Intel 5520 Chipset driver
