System specs at the end, pieces are in order of age (newest to oldest, majority being around 2 1/2 years old)
The issue: About 2 weeks ago, my keyboard/headset/mouse all disconnected, each item either flickering or just shutting off. I tried to isolate each item, to no avail. I then went in and made sure BIOS and all drivers were updated, nothing. Next step was the normal search on the internet, and each one was either Windows 7 update (did not work), shutting off USB Selective Suspend (did not work), and turning off USB 3.0 (still nothing).
At first, when the USB peripherals would go awry, I lost control of the PC and had to unfortunately do a reset. I found out the second time that I could swap the USB cables to other ports, and regain control, albeit sporadically. I also found that I could plug into the blue (3.0) slots, and they would work (I am not 100% sure how the ports work, if I am still able to get usability from slots I previously turned off in BIOS). Precursors to the incidents now happen with either the mouse or keyboard alone disconnecting and reconnecting after a few seconds. Once this happens a couple times, all ports go out until I swap.
I appreciate any and all help in this situation, and if necessary I am willing to share any stats, images or unmentioned specs to help resolve my issue. Thanks!
