I have about 10-15 usb ports on my gigabyte z390 ultra. Recently at first the 2.0 ports in the front were not working. I checked and they are pushing power. The 3.0 works.
Then I noticed some of the ports in the back were intermittent like my mouse. Just recently, all my USBs would disconnect one at a time and one right after another and then reconnect after they all disconnected. I tried uninstalling the hub driver and restarting and moving usb devices around but the issue is tied to specific ports. Not sure what else it could be. I have a custom pc so I don’t have something like dell command to discover all drivers. I tried driver booster. Any ideas?

What BIOS version are you working with at this moment of time?

What is the make and model of your case? If you're working with an USB hub as well, please include that. As for your PSU, please mention the make and model of the unit and it's age.

I tried driver booster.
If it was possible I'd have told you to sterlize the entire computer to remove every trace of that app. Third party apps should not be used to tell you if you have any driversor udpates pending. I had a client bring in a laptop that bricked it due to DriverBooster, after client though it was a legit app, asking it to update the BIOS. Sadly client learned a lesson not to use that app.

so I don’t have something like dell command to discover all drivers.
If you need the latest drivers, use the motherboard manufacturer's support page for the board to source the latest drivers/updates. Cross reference drivers you currently have.

I'm assuming you're working with a Microsoft Windows OS environment, if so, please try reinstalling your chipset/USB drivers in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator.

I can check what bios and power supply. I think the power supply is a 850.

The gigabyte website is very poor. It does not provide instructions on updating the bios. I happened to stumble upon an app from gigabyte where you can upload the bios file but It also does not say which file as there are 3 files once unzipped.

I do not have a usb hub at the moment.

Bios is out of date
