Hello there!

I have a USB kingston DT101 16GB
Which was working fine before the failure.
I just plugged it into an old usb hub -rear PCI slot type-
which I think ,was damaged
then I removed the hub from P.C and
plugged the USB into rear USB port of M.B
then a pop up came "USB not recognized"
In the device manager it says "UNKNOWN device"
I don't know What to do please help me
Is this a power failure or the firmware is damaged?
Is there any way through which i can reuse my flash drive???

thanks

Hey there.

Try the flash drive with a different computer and try reformatting it if it's possible. You could also try reformatting it by downloading the formatting tool offered by its manufacturer (most memory card and flash drive manufacturers offer such tools for their devices, so check its website).
If you're unable to format it either way and it's not properly recognized by any device/computer, then it has probably failed. Your only option in a case like this is to get it replaced if it's under warranty.

Hope that helps.

Thanks a lot man..!
I'd reformat the drive only In that case If it is detectable . I've tried the kingston format tool but it is not detecting the USB.
Anyways thanks for your support.
I'll buy a new one.
