USB gaming have cd but no drive

I have a gaming computer I built but I didn't see the need for a CD drive because I only ever used steam or origin. I was trying to download a game from a CD I used to play and recently wanted to play again. I tried copying it from a the CD to USB on a mac. All seemed to work when I installed it. The icon transferred over from it perfectly although when I try launching the game it gives me an error saying "no CD drive found". What can I do to fix this and just run it from a USB.

Some older games have drm that requires the disc to play. We won't help you bypass this.

Ive been using one for the past few years now as my computer at home and work dont have optical drives in them. works like a charm
