My dog tugged on a USB cord, the little black or blue piece that keeps the pins aligned got ripped out. Now when I boot the PC it says to protect from over current it has to turn off. Anyway to bypass/disable this USB port just so I can use the computer? I don’t care about the USB port whether it’s fixed or not. I was considering the CMOS battery but I doubt that’ll do anything.

Solution
Depends on where the port is located as to how easy it will be to disable. If it's at the front of the computer, then open the case and find the wire that goes from that front usb header to the motherboard. Disconnect it from the motherboard.
If the usb port is at the back of the computer, then it is directly connected to the motherboard. I can only think of the bios as being the way to disable it

Yeah it’s not a front connector or it’d be solved already no problem. It’s a rear port connected to the motherboard, I can’t even get into the bios the prompt comes up so quickly, I was wondering if it’d be safe to take off the USB port as a whole, but I feel as if there could be a safer resort before going that far
