Hi, I just built myself a new PC,

Strix X99 MB
i7-6850K
16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-24000C15 3000MHz
1080 GTX
And Win 10

Everything runs really nice.

But, 3 times now I have had a problem where the
Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller - 1.0 (Microsoft)
disables itself, and once I enable it I also have to enable the
USB Root Hub (xHCI)

Altho in itself this is not much of an issue, I use a USB mouse and Keyboard.
So I have to plug in a PS/2 keyboard and reboot my PC in order to go into device manager and re-enable the USB controller, which is a bit of a pain.

I cannot see any pattern, it seems to happen completely at random.
I will just notice the mouse has stopped working, and putting in a recharged battery does not fix it. Then try to bring up task manager with the keyboard and it doesn't work, thats when I know.

So I'm wondering what is causing this, and is it something I can stop from happening?

I'm experiencing something similar, I shut my pc down every night and when I boot it back up, seemingly randomly, my USB ports will not have power once windows begins to load in. Therefore, I shut it down and use a ps2 port keyboard to load a restore point and then it works fine one again. I'm wondering if maybe this issue is related to yours?
