Hi!
I got an USB HUB yesterday in order to connect to my extension USB cable that is connected to my motherboard. I know this is confusing, but I put my case above my monitor and I usually play my games using my TV and laying on my couch. To use my headset, I had to buy this Extension USB cable (3m long) so I could use it on the couch. Today, I bought this micro USB cable (3m long) to connect my Xbox controller to the USB Hub. BUT, the controller only works if the HUB is connected to the motherboard directly! Also, If I plug the controller to the extension USB cable, doesn't work either. What am I doing wrong here? My plan was to connect both my Headset + Controller to the HUB and use my Extension USB to connect the HUB instead of using my motherboard. Both my HUB and the other cable is 2.0

Sounds like the signal is not good enough to use that cable with the controller. USB gets a bit flaky past 10 feet or so. You have an extender and another longish cable that almost doubles that.
Do you have any idea on what to do to improve? Because my case is on top of my monitor for better space and airflow. To use my headset while playing on my couch, I had to buy this 3m long extended USB cable. So in order to play with my controller without the wireless, I was planning on doing the same thing. That's why I got the HUB.
I'm really newbie at this. Do you think if I get a 3.0 USB cable instead of the 2.0 things would be different?

Not really the signal just breaks down with long cables.

I bought a 6ft extension cable when I got a new desk for my printer pugged that into the 6ft cable that came with the printer and it would always throw a error when trying to print. Returned the cable as defective and the replacement did the same thing. Bought a stand to put my case on so I could just use the 6ft cable and it worked fine.

Going to a USB 3.0 is not going to help.

Well, then there's nothing I can do xD
My case is pretty far from my couch and I would need at least a 3.5 or 4m long cable to plug directly into my motherboard without any extension cable. That's sad 🙁

3.5 would be right at 11 ft you could try that without using a extension when you connect one cable to another you also loose a bit at the connector. Probably not going to work but could.

EDIT sounds like you need to either move the case or move the couch a meter or so closer to game.

Why not use wireless here? Plenty of wireless controllers and headphones/headsets, some pretty cheap if you are not looking for amazing quality and are OK with good enough.
