usb input devices not working

I need help, my mobo is A88OG+ am3 Biostar, with 1 ps/2 port. my usb iput devices are not working either the mouse or the keyboard but ps/2 devices work perfectly. i already did a clean install of win 7, doesnt work @ safe mode, even when i was reinstalling i only used my keyboard during the process. when i checked the devmgmt i can't see the "mice ad other pointing devices" did all my researches but nothing works i need any help given is so much appreciated ^_^ additional info, any mass media storage inserted on the usb ports works fine

Some Mobos have specialized USB port specifically labeled for kbd/mouse and you may have to specifically enable them in BIOS.
