Hi, I need some help figuring out what keeps installing in Windows. This quick installation keeps happening at random times no matter if the PC is idle or not. I recently upgraded to the latest F42e bios from Gigabyte's x470 Gaming 7. The USB icon will pop up for a second along with the sound. It happens a few times within an hour usually. Will event viewer show me? I am using the latest version of Windows 10 with chipset drivers. Thank you.

System:
3700X S36
Gigabyte X470 Gaming 7 F42E bios
Aorus 1080 Ti
Night Hawk Legend 3200@3600 14-14-14-28
EVGA 750 B2
3x HDD
Samsung NVME Sata 256GB OEM

I guess you have checked you don't have an installer USB in any slot? It can't try to install without an installer somewhere
No external dvd drive with an installer dvd in it?
no card reader?

could look in scheduled tasks as it might show in event viewers logs somewhere, but if its doing it at random times, it could be a task its running.

which version of win 10 are you on?
right click start
choose run...
type "winver" and press enter
latest version (for a few more days) is 1903

can you right click start
choose disk management
expand the window to show all columns
take a screenshot, upload to an image sharing website and show link here. That might show us something

It's the Unkown USB device in device manager. It's always been there from I can tell but now it's re-installing itself over and over. Device Descriptor Error. This just started happening after I installed the 3700X on the X470 Gaming 7 board. I have 1903 Windows. I also re-installed the Chipset drivers. I know that's been there since my 2700X but it's never re-installed itself over and over.

The unknown device is BLuetooth - http://forum.gigabyte.us/thread/4260/gigabyte-x470-gaming-lost-bluetooth

so its not windows trying to reinstall itself? its just trying to update something? latest BT drivers are on here - https://www.gigabyte.com/au/Motherb...-WIFI-rev-10/support#support-dl-driver-wlanbt

Bluetooth Drivers are working with the lastest driver. https://ibb.co/rptgm5Y I don't know what this USB device is but it's been there since this build I done.

if its just software, a reset might be all it takes. Still need to reinstall all your programs but slightly less painful than a complete reinstall can be. although you appear to have plenty of space on hdd so recovery might not be as long.

Wow, I did a big user error if any. I found the problem. I noticed there was a Onn wireless charging pad connected to the board via usb. This whole time. Now I feel like a huge eye dee 10 T. lol.
