Hello,

so today I received a SilverStone TS231U 2 bay 3,5" HDD Raid enclosure and I bought also Western Digital Red 4000GB 64MB cache with it, spent almost 300€ for both and I can't get it to work. I have been sitting here for almost 7 hours now figuring it out, looking on google, I've seen a lot of threads on different forums and still nothing.

When I open a Disk Manager, there is only my SSD and HDD which is in PC, then when I open a Device Manager and there is USB Mass Storage Device but with yellow exclamation mark and when I double click on it, it says this: this device cannot start. (code 10). I have already tried to uninstall drivers and then download them from ASUS website as I have P9X79 MB and install them. Didn't work. I have tried all 4 USB 3.0s. Funny thing about it is that it doesn't even work with eSATA cable too.

I have windows 7 64-bit version.

Is there anyone who has 100% fix for this or am I screwed?
Thank you very much for reply.

There is not yellow exclamation mark when the device is not plugged in. The "USB Mass Storage Device" only appears when I plug the box into PC but it appears with yellow exclamation mark though. How do I set up the external drive though?

SilverStone TS231U 2 bay 3,5" HDD, it supports up to 4TB per one HDD so there shouldn't be problem. To GPT: I have read about GPT but only in case if windows shows only half of HDD so 2TB.

I would guess that there is a problem with either the enclosure or the HDD it's self. Can you install the HDD directly to a sata port in your computer? Might be able to set it up for GPT in disk manager. Might even narrow down the problem to one or the other.
