I am a retired IT professional

My USB 3.0 PCIe card randomly fails to "wake" back from sleep.

The details:
1- CSL brand, 7 USB ports, internal SATA power socket, fed from a Molex via a Molex-to-SATA-power converter.
2- Was in use for 6 years on a very old Win7 PC with an Asus motherboard, Corsair 750W PSU, with no issues whatsoever.
3- In October this card was moved into a new Win10 PC with a new Asus motherboard, Corsair 1000W PSU. The card worked OK for 3 months.
4- Then, starting a week ago, the card often does not come back from sleep. Power does (I can plug onto it a mobile charging cable for example) but data does not. Device Manager: "not connected".
5- Device Manager ..... Disable, wait, Enable has no effect.
6- Device Manager .... Turned off the "Allow the computer to turn off this device ..". No effect.
7- Eventually found that the card never wakes if the sleep lasted few hours, but sometimes even after a full night it does not wake.
8- A sure fix is to shutdown the PC, wait 30 minutes, restart the PC.
9- Once awake the card alwayss works flawlessly.
10- This is a very complex PC, with literally dozens of peripherals, and everything else is working fine. It took me several weeks to assemble it. I am a retired IT professional, but am approaching my 80s, the Maxi tower is on the floor and weights more than 20Kgs, and any hardware change is for me a real chore.

Ideas:
A- If this old card is failing, could it damage the new motherboard?
B- Should I try to power directly from a SATA, not from a MOLEX via adapter?
C- Should I try disconnecting the power (CSL recommends to have it plugged always). Issue: I plug onto it a switched hub 6 flight-simulator joysticks-gamepad-pedals. Supposedly low-consumption devices I guess. ...
D- Should I just assume that the card after almost 7 years is giving up its soul and replace it: the SupaHub USB3 PCIe 5-port card is the best reviewed one available here in Italy and is affordable at €24.
E- I hope it is not the motherboard PCIe-1x slot that is failing? There is no other free PCIe slot available!

Before I change anything, any suggestions will be VERY, VERY welcome, thanks!

A day after, amazed at the flurry of responses, this is my plan for today.

"TSW" below means "Test Sleep and Wake up" as follows:
1) sleep the PC, after 10 minutes, wake it again: if it fails, the test result is FAILED
2) wait one hour, sleep the PC, after 10 minutes, wake it again: if it fails, the result is FAILED
3) same
4) same
If it never failed, the result is PASSED.

o Disconnect Switched 7x Hub from the USB3 PCIe card. Reboot. TSW:
PASSED: The Switched 7x Hub was the issue! Connect it always elsewhere! END.
FAILED: Proceed as follows.

o Shutdown, Open Tower, Disconnect the USB C plug from the PSU. Reboot (Tower is Open). TSW:
PASSED: The USB C connection to PSU was the issue! Remove it (anyway not in use). END
FAILED: Proceed as follows.

o Shutdown, (Tower is Open), Disconnect the card's power plug. Reboot (Tower is Open). TSW. Outcomes:
PASSED. Remember not to plug USB3-power hungry devices such as external HDD drives. END
FAILED. The card (hopefully not the motherboard) is faulty: get a new card. END
FAILED EVEN AFTER REBOOT: Card just does not work: Needs external power! Proceed as follows.

o Connect a SATA power cable to PSU and to the card. TSW:
PASSED: The Molex was the issue! Leave it with SATA power. END
FAILED: The card (hopefully not the motherboard) is faulty: get a new card.

Comments, if any, very welcome.

Test results: faulty card. Amazon.DE reports users who found this card working OK in Windows 07 and Linux, but failing in Windows 10. It appears to be a driver issue: Windows 10 loads generic drivers that produce this problem. The maker CSL provides for download a driver whose files are dated in 2012!!
Will buy a new card ....
