Hello!

One question: Why do my front USB-ports do not always recognize devices that require more power than just a pendrive. For example, an external HDD.

  • all drivers are up to date
  • the USB ports at the back of the tower work and accept the external HDD
  • on my laptop the external HDD gets recognized
  • in "Power Management" I unchecked "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"
  • BIOS and AMD chipset drivers updated

What else can be done?

Thanks!

The front panel headers are likely built to only provide up to 4.5W USB typically provides. Anything beyond that is just a bonus. If the drive is purely powered by USB, you'll need one of those pig tail cables so it uses two ports.
