USB Port Malfunction

The USB port was working perfectly until today when it suddenly stopped detecting my wired mouse or keyboard upon start up. Strangely, it could still detect pendrive or my phone. i tried restarting a couple of times but I still couldn't get it to work. any advice will really be much appreciated.

FYI: I am not really that tech savvy so please bear wit me, thanks

Any other USB ports you can plug them in ?
Try starting computer (which kind is it ?) and than plug them in one by one.
