Hello guys,

While installing windows 7 through pen drive I ran across this frustating error and I can't get to solve it.
I made my pendrive bootable, then booted through it, It worked perfectly then problem starts at "install now" screen. None of port works neither usb 3.0 nor usb 2.0.I am very much annoyed by this problem.
It's an laptop : lenovo y700
I tried various trick but non of them works.
Since usb ports does not work I cannot buy external DVD and boot through CD.
I have wiped out previous version of windows.
But the only thing i have left is windows setup file in my HDD (through which i could or could not boot I don't know).

how to fix this? HELP ME PLEASE

Solution
I'm willing to bet the problem isn't your USB ports but rather your Windows 7 install. If you're using a 6th gen CPU, which current specs for the Lenovo y700 list, the problem is your Win7 install needs to be patched. Intel dropped their support for the Enhanced Host Controller Interface with the current chipset. The good news is it's pretty easy to deal with.

1. Go here
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25476/Windows-7-USB-3-0-Creator-Utility

2. Apply the patch to your Windows 7 Install media.
3. Install your OS.
