I have 12 different USB ports on the computer, all are hooked up and all should, ideally, be working. My build setup can be found here: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/andyritz/saved/#view=PvBXsY
If that does not work, my setup is (well, the highlights).
MSI Z170A GAMING M5 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
MSI GeForce GTX 960 4GB Video Card
Thermaltake Chaser MK-I ATX Full Tower Case
I'm running Windows 7 64 bit. The issue I have with this is that, of my 12 USB port (2 are USB 3.0), there are only 5 that work. 5...total...5...As an example, the keyboard that I am typing this on is plugged into the top of the box. If I plug it in the rear of the box (direct to the MOBO), it cannot "find the driver" and the keyboard will not work. I have tried this with every single port. I've tried uninstalling the driver and restarting the computer. No dice. I can get power to the keyboard, but cannot use it (if that makes sense).
What am I doing wrong? I have already unchecked the option that allows the PC to shut off a USB port to save power.
