USB splicing: purple green black blue??

Hello Tom's community,

SO, since I prefer splicing to buying, and I like a challenge, I have cut a mini USB charger to expose this colour combination : purple, green, black, blue, which I would like to match up to a standard USB cable for computer charging / data (not sure which I'll get, but anything'd be better than what I've got now). The smartphone is a Nokia... and I've got no elecric tester, just electrical tape and box cutters.

Anyone know which of the 4 "exotic" wire colours match up with which standard USB colours? I've spent hours searching Google to no avail.

Wiring color inside the usb cable is not standardized. You would nee a multimeter to see which wire goes to which pin of the usb connector to finish your project.

In the meantime, a friend gave me an extra charger that fits my phone... I wasn't quite too proud to accept it!
