I have 128GB usb drive for data backup. The drive is bitlockered.

I have (or had) a 128GB USB drive which was bitlockered.

When not in use, the drive is stored in a drawer. it is only taken out of the drawer when I want to back up my data.

I took the drive out today and put it in my computer.

It now has 28.7 GB on it. There is no bitlocker protection. It's like the drive was formatted and then about 7GB of data from my computer was copied onto it. Or something like that.

Diskpart does not show anything else on the drive than the 7 GB of data.

Are there other tools which I can download to examine the drive in more detail? Or another forum I can reach out to?

What should my next move be?

Diskpart shows a 200MB EFI partition, 28.55GB primary paritiion, and 128MB is unallocated.

The data lives on another USB drive (2TB). It's just me (I think) using this. As soon as I've backed up my data, I remove the USB drive and store it in a drawer. That's it. But now the 128GB is replaced by 28.55GB. Like, how? (also, I'd post an image of disk management but when I try to put an image in the message, all I can see is the URL selection box.)

It says FAT32. I never formatted this disk. I used Bitlocker but that's it. Yes, it should say exFAT but it doesn't.

It was a case of mistaken usb drives. I did not know that someone who is staying with me also had a 128GB pny usb drive. And that drive also had some of my files on it, so when I saw the drive and my files I assumed this was my disk and that he had added a partition for a boot loader (which he had). But my disk was actually still in a drawer.

APOLOGIES FOR ALL THE ISSUES!
