Question USB4 Type C monitor.

Looking for some input into the type USB4, type C 40GB but also works for onboard video. that has USB4 type C is active on my new motherboard. Gigabyte X870 Gaming WiFi6.
Disappearing PCI slot and display port. PCI ports? who used them anyway? I did for old rigs still running without onboard WiFi. My guess is, finally all new motherboards will have onboard USB4. Now the exiting of the display port in favor of HDMI and USB4/Thunderbolt? I read the DP is healthy, cable length issues were resolved with updates. Somebody is lying. It seems DP is going by the wayside. At least the version of DP as we know it. DP has been around for years but really doesn't have much to show for it. DP seems to have magically integrated into USB4. X870 chipset was released September, three months ago. I don't expect that many that have upgraded to show in this thread. Installing a GPU will certainly change things.

Are you asking about how to connect a DP monitor via a USB4 type C port?

There are adapters for doing so - Amazon lists quite a number of choices....

More explanation and information is needed.

Guess my thread has a mishmash of things I am trying to address Cable lengths to achieve 40 Gbps. I assume the connection runs @ 10Gbps unless optimal conditions are met. I have had bad luck with HDMI > DP adapters.
Not a hell of a lot of how-to-do's, what-not-todo's. It seems the best way is three foot cables for a 40 Mbps connection. 3' cable? Hahahaha. cables, USB C to USB C. Maybe assemble a USB hub... HDMI > type C. I read a few short articles. Do you have any suggestions? The first I heard about the extended capabilities of the USB4 type C capabilities was last week. I am 70 and move a little slower than I used to. Plus having other interests besides computers.

I found quite a number of articles, tutorials, explanations, etc.. Filter to more recent months. Be wary of "reviews".

Overall two things to keep in mind:

1) The resulting speed will only be a fast as the slowest component in the connection path - be it cable, connector, port, or adapter.

2) The speeds may not be as expected (promised/advertised/claimed) based on materials, manufacturing quality, ideal "testing" scenarios, etc..

And remember that fake cables abound.

I realize marketing can throw up some wild numbers. This is why C > C with a 3' baseline results first. Then add the poison. Seems don't do's are across the board for such setups. Iwas hoping somebody might have a great setup.
