Use a HDD simultaneously?

I want to connect a HDD into 2 different machines and wondered if this was possible. I want to connect a HDD to a Playstation 3 and PC so I can mod files on the go would this be possible? They will be used as externals in both machines.

The only way I think this might, and I have to emphasize *might*, be possible, is through network attached storage. It would go PC and PS into Router, Router NAS to HDD. Not sure if the PS would recognize it though. The other thought would be through a USB Hub. Not sure on either, but you can look further from there.

network storage is the only way I know of.

I think the only solution is for you to have a ps3 with hdd in it and an external hdd. (like wd passport)

Thanks for your suggestions I would prefer it being wired and stable but I will look into other options.
