Use a second router as an extension for my main modem?

Hi there,
i need to explain it a little better here.
Basically i have a main modem/router which is connected to my ISP and my computer is also connected to it.Then i have an RJ45 cable going to another router in the middle of the house to extend my Wi-Fi.The problem is that one router has 192.168.0.1 and the other have 192.168.2.1 so i can't stream videos etc to my laptop which is connected to the other router with different ip because it's not in the same local network.
Is there a way to make the second router act as subproduct of the main router or something?

yes.
you need to disable the routing function of the second router, switch it to AP mode. after disabling the routing, move the Ethernet cable from the WAN port to a LAN port.
as a switch and an AP the second router will have an address on the first network, not its own network.

This talks about making into a WiFi access point, but the LAN ports fall under this same change.

But if this is all wired, a simple $20 5 port switch would work as well. With zero configuration changes.
