Hello,
I have a thompson wireless modem which is the one from my internet provider and I want to use my Dynex DX-WEGRTR router as a wireless bridge and I've been struggling a couple day now.
My primary wireless modem uses the 192.168.1.254 address.
I already enabled the Dynex wireless bridge option and assigned the 192.168.1.2 address and the same WEP, SSID, chanel, subnet mask as the primary wireless modem. I also set the Dynex gateway and DNS to 192.168.1.254
But still no luck, any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Are you trying to have the Dynex connect to the Thompson wirelessly?

I don't see a bridge repeater option under the wireless configuration.

If set it up as an AP (access point) by connecting the two routers via network cable LAN port to LAN port, try the following:

use 192.168.1.253 instate of 192.168.1.2 since the Thompson could be using in its DHCP range.

did you disable the DHCP on the Dynex?

Hi Emerald,
Thanks for your reply.
Yes, I'm trying to connect the Dynex to the Thomson wireless.

The Thomson does not have a bridge repeater option on the menus I can access as my ISP disabled them so I'm using telnet to change advanced and hidden options.

Thru telnet using the command :wireless wds config state:enabled
I was able to enable wds on the Thomson, I also added the Dynex Macaddress to the WDS list of the Thomson as follows :wireless wds add bssid: Dynex Mac addess

I verified and my dynex has disabled the DHCP option.
I also tried as you suggested changing the IP address of the dynex and still no success.
On the dynex I enabled the wireless bridge option and added the Thomson Mac address also in the Dynex security menu I'm using the WEP the same as the Thomson and the wireless channel.

The thomson telnet command manual allows you to change about any option but I'm not that of an advanced user to know which specific option I have wrongly configured

Any other idea/suggestion?
Thanks again for helping

google search comes up with this thread as a result for this subject.

sorry for this necro, but i find it necessary to revive it, i have the DX-WGRTR router.

it has the bridge option, and after several tries to get it to work, there is no success.

would be very nice if there was a dd-wrt firmware for this device to easily set up the bridging.

this Dynex says it can do it, but offers no help on the process, i have come to the conclusion that they neglected to finalize the "bridging" part of this router.
