Use earphone as microphone + earphone.

What happened was, when I plugged my earphone to my monitor that is connected with computer by DVI to HDMI cable I found I can use my earphone as microphone + earphone.
However, after I changed my motherboard, M5A97 to gigabyte h61m something I can not use earphone as microphone.

It was so useful when it worked...
Any ideas?

I can't be sure of the cause however, I assume the audio jack in the new motherboard doesn't support microphone through the audio jack, and instead has a separate jack for mic. You can buy adapters to split your head set audio jack to 2 jacks.

Also, sometimes standards don't match up and the audio jack makes contact at the wrong points causing weird issues.

But the monitor is connected by dvi to hdmi cable with my r9 270x which can transfer audio. I think Audio jack does not matter on this problem...

Sorry i misunderstood. That's an unusual issue, nothing changed besides the motherboard?
