Use laptop hdd as main for desktop?

So my desktop hdd health is 23% and will be dead soon. I don't have any money right now literally lol, So what are the disadvantage of using my laptop hdd as my desktop hdd? its gonna be an external of course but its also gonna be the main like where I will install my windows and boot from it

How old is your laptop, and by that I meant to ask, how old is your laptop's HDD? Chances are that it might be on it's way out as well. What app did you use to verify the health of the HDD?

Laptop HDD is probably 3 months old and for my desktop's hdd I checked it with Hard Disk sentinel and last monday it says there's 271 bad sectors then the other day it was 281 now its 284. health is still 23%. I tried scanning bad sectors with the EaseUS tool smthing but there's 0 so i don't really know

The physical 2.5" drive is fine, if a bit slow.

The laptop OS on it? No.
Running as an external drive with an OS? No.
