Use mobo from HP pc for new build?

Hello, i was wondering if its possible/okay to use a motherboard from an HP pc for another build(mobo model: ipm87-mp). Basically what i wanted to do is get the mobo and put it in a new case, while keeping everything on it except for the gpu which is what I want to upgrade. Im also going to be using a new psu, not the one that's in the hp case.

You can definitely try, and it should work. But you are you keeping the CPU and RAM as well?

Yeah, sure that's possible. You're keeping everything on it right. So it's just a case replacement sort of.
If you do want to replace some more components in the future, just make sure they are compatible with the board (LGA1150, DDR3?)

Yup, im keeping the cpu as well as the ram. All im doing is putting my system in a new case + a psu and gpu upgrade.
