Used CPU Upgrade

Currently have an 860k that I feel is very much struggling in today's games, I just sniped a deal on a new RX 560 4GB and want something better to pair it with. My current rig as a whole

860K @4.2
8GB 1866
750 Ti MSI

I am looking to find a mobo and cpu for under $100-120. I think going used is my best bet, I do not want a skylake platform because I want to reuse the DDR3 i currently have to help save money. I am good with Ebay and r/hardwareswap but I want to know what I should be looking for specifically.

Seems like an i5 2000/3000 series will be your best bet here.

Your best bet is to look for a Haswell board and CPU. An i5-4460 would match fine with that 560, be way faster than your 860k, takes DDR3, and you may be able to do for like $120 used with motherboard.

and close to almost a year later I have a 2500k, p6p67 mobo and 12 gb of RAM in the mail for $100 total
