I tried to update my BIOS using the Flash BIOS Button on my MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX, the red light flashed for two minutes, then it shut off and the rest of the PC is seemingly still powered on. Keep in mind, I didn't have to update before turning on this build, as a recent enough BIOS was installed. I just wanted the newest and thought it would be neat to try the built-in feature. But the issue is I'm afraid of cutting the power, since everything seems to be on, but the BIOS update should be done? It doesn't respond to the shut down or restart buttons on the case itself. Is it safe to turn off power to the case?

There's a red light on in the opposite end of the flash light, right next to the power cable. Is that important?

Did you follow the instructions to updating your BIOS using BIOS flash button per that stated in your manual, page 41? Might also want to state what the labeling next to the LED's are. If you can't identify them, parse a picture and we'll look at them.
I did indeed, however, the guide does not specify whether or not the PC will reboot automatically . I suppose it's done now, my only question now remains: Is it safe to turn it off completely?

Rip... Guess I'll just turn off power completely and see what happens, if nothing changes in the next couple of minutes :/

Also, sorry to post again on this thread, I'm just really worried and not used to doing this kinda stuff

All right, it was a bit wonky when starting again, the BIOS logo appeared three times and signal was lost for about 10 seconds twice, but everything seems to be in order. Apart from a brief signal loss from the graphics card for some reason. I am hugely relieved and that is the last time I'm updating my BIOS in that fancy manner! I'll do it in the old-fashioned way from now on

After downloading the BIOS file, you need to unzip it first before renaming the file to MSI.ROM.
If you did not unzip it, then you are not using the correct file.
Hey Calvin, everything is fine now, I was just worried I had done something wrong, but nope turns out I was just overthinking everything 😛
