$800 - is that a good deal?

No legit software, but I can buy that later.

Are there any testing programs I should run to check it, like memtest or voltage check, etc?

not really a great deal......i just bought one with an i5 sandy bridge and 8gb 1600mhz ram in it for 100 and picked up ram and gpu for 200......the power supply is way overkill, the ram is way overkill, id say spend 800 and build one your self.

keep in mind its pirated OS so he will have to dump another 100 into it and its 3rd gen (not terrible but still older), the motherboard is about 4 years old and could go out incurring additional cost. so realistically id expect to see that build at about $1000 after a new mobo within a year and new OS..... and you can build a great rig for $1000 including monitor, keyboard, mouse.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/DvpDRB $962 with monitor, keyboard, mouse, legit OS, new I5 current tech, and warranty
