Solution

First use 1.5 years ago? Still, it's a first generation i7 that is 10 years old now.

It will work to play games with a decent graphics card (GTX 900 or 1000 series or AMD equivalent) but there are other issues with such an old system, not just the CPU.

First, the motherboard is probably using SATA II, not SATA III, so...

That CPU is from 2008. Where you are getting 1.5 years I do not know.

That CPU is pretty old. It will hold you back. The Fury X is okay, but not worth writing home to momma about either.

It is hard to say if you can run everything on ultra at 1080p/60hz because the hardware is so old. There are not a lot of information on i7 920 performance on today's games. My guess is in some games that are not CPU heavy, it will be okay. But games that require a good CPU, you will have some issues.

I would not buy the rig unless it was a really good deal.

amd r9 fury x 4gb with radiator
my budget is about 900 $ for the case only but every thing is expensive in my country
for example i5 8600k pc with gtx 1070 16 gb ram 1tb hdd is about 1600$ so im searching for cheap pc till i can get enough money for a good gaming pc
im from palestine
games : far cry 5 / gta v / bf1

the cpu made in 2008 but first use was a 1.5 years ago and the gpu bought 2 month ago

i saw more than video in the youtube for the i7 920 with gtx 1070 (almost same fury x power) getting about 120fps for bf1 on ultra 1080p and gta v 40-80 fps ultra 1440p

watch this video plz
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dhg1SxTMmuw

i saw more than video for the cpu performance
the diff between the i7 920 and the 8700k like 60fps in the same gpu
but still can run bf1 at 120 fps (maximum fps) with my gpu on ultra

can i upgrade my case in the future by buying a new motherboard and new cpu ?
the diff between ddr3 and ddr4 in game about 5 fps as i saw so i dont care about ddr4
and the gpu is still good for gaming

i mean in (case) the case with everything in like m.b / ram/ cpu /etc
for example u can buy a gtx 1070ti for 488$ from amazon but in my country u have to pay 730$ for the same gtx 1070ti
or a i7 8700k for 360$ from amazon and 460$ here

i can use this pc for a year then i will upgrade the pc with a new motherboard and a new cpu and a new ddr4 ram
i saw some videos on youtube for the cpu and it can run bf1 for like 90fps avg on ultra 1080p

in my country it is
u can buy a gtx 1070ti for 488$ from amazon but in my country u have to pay 730$ for the same gtx 1070ti

are there other used options?
can you find anything from 6th gen intel?

4th gen was really good, but you will be stuck with the ddr3 when all the upgrades will need ddr4.
any 4core intel sandy bridge or newer with a decent turbo clock will still be good for a while.
the gpu has been getting better so fast that old high end ones are closer to low end ones now.

Hoe much

The pc is basically crap. Try sourcing a nice ryzen 5 chip with a b350 mobo and relative cheap team group kit of ram. This in a cheap case together with an ssd/hdd and a psu. Go for a gtx 10 50ti or 1060 at most. If no shipping to palestine check this link. https://flycrates.com/amazon-shipping-to-palestine. Where are you in palestine. Can you get stuff from israel? If you are in gaza then you might have a problem getting goods in

First use 1.5 years ago? Still, it's a first generation i7 that is 10 years old now.

It will work to play games with a decent graphics card (GTX 900 or 1000 series or AMD equivalent) but there are other issues with such an old system, not just the CPU.

First, the motherboard is probably using SATA II, not SATA III, so even if you use an SSD in that system it will not perform at its maximum speed, but about half as fast. The PCIe slots are 2.0, not 3.0. Also, all the USB ports will most likely be 2.0, no 3.0 ports. And you already show that the RAM is DDR3, not DDR4.

Personally, I would buy the i5 8500K PC at twice the cost, as it will be much faster and be using SATA III, PCIe 3.0 slots, DDR4 RAM and have several USB 3.0 ports. The motherboard may even have an NVMe slot or two (if you buy the right system). But that's what I would do.

I currently own an old 2009 model Dell XPS with an i7 940 in it, so I know about how well it performs. It will play games but will not be anywhere near as fast or efficient as that i5 system. I used that computer up until I built a completely new system in January using an i7 8700K CPU running Windows 10 Pro off of a 512 GB NVMe SSD and using a GTX 1080 Ti 11GB video card. That computer is fast and I can run every game on maximum settings on my 1440p IPS monitor. To be fair, in my old computer I was using a GTX 1060 6GB video card and could only run on high settings, not maximum settings. But there's no way to overcome the slower performance of the old CPU, except with a faster current one.

Still, it's up to you. If you only plan to use that old system (no matter how long it has actually been used) for a short time (or maybe you don't care about current motherboards, NVMe SSD drives and other speed improvements) then go ahead, get that system. But, I would not invest in a very old system, personally. As I said, even the i5 8500K is much better.

If you want performance go with something current, but if you just want to get by and save money you can go for the old system. Just don't have regrets later knowing that you could have placed the money on a new system. That's my advice. Good luck!
