I just started Windows 11, it's still doing updates, but I noticed my User name is wrong. Is there anyway to fix that? I hate they changed Win 11 so much. ugh
I'm talking about C://This PC/User

My Windows Local Account name is Cheryl already. The User Folder is called chery, missing the last letter.
Why it is like that I have no clue. Creating the same account name is not gonna help me or am I misunderstanding what you mean?

Assuming the account is not a Microsoft Account (which you'll have to log into Microsoft's webpage instead), go to Control Panel -> User accounts -> Manage Users -> [Select a user] -> Change the Account Name

Note that this only changes the displayed name. The internal name (in C:\Users) may not change or change in a manner you didn't expect. The internal name is something you normally don't interact with, so I wouldn't worry about it.

You cannot change the directory name under "C:\users\<name>". It is created by the system when the account is created and must remain as is. You shouldn't be randomly roaming about in there anyway as there are a myriad ways to hose your system by renaming/deleting the wrong thing in there.

I initially logged into Microsoft to download Microsoft Office...but I have NEVER seen my user name misspelled, it's gonna drive me nuts. Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the reply...I am on Windows 11, and going back to the very first Windows software, the name was always correctly spelled. ugh..
