User files (documents, saved games) missing after installing old hard drive in new compurter
So I recently purchased a new computer pre-built and with it's own 2TB hardrive. I set it up independently and set up my previous accounts, etc. After playing around with it for a day I decided it was time to remove my old HDD from my old computer. I mounted it in, hooked up SATA and power and after some fumbling through settings I found the option to "import foreign disk" and did so.
Everything worked fine, my old steam games and custom folders were all instantly available. However my problem is all user data is basically gone. My documents, pictures, saved games- anything that was directly in the old drive's "C:\Users\User" folder was all gone.
I looked into the problem online and tried a few common suggestions such as chkdsk, easeus data recovery, checking the registry for my old account but nothing has worked.
To clarify the folders themselves are in the correct places on the old drive and it itself did have a Windows 10 installation itself. Drive is healthy/uncorrupted if not a little old at this point. It is a dynamic disk with two partitions labeled F if that matters. So what I need to know is are those files just gone and if so why? I can clarify any other details if necessary, I'm just tired of trying options that don't work. Thanks in advance.
