[SOLVED] Using a single monitor with 2 computers ?

Hi.

I'm after purchasing a new monitor. I want to be able to connect to 2 computers in a picture by picture or picture in picture fashion. I also want to have a single keyboard / mouse for both computers and easily switch between the 2 computers.

I really like the look of the LG Dual controller functionality but one of the computers is a work computer and I can NOT install additional software on it. I assume the LG dual controller won't work without software on both. I'm not bothered about copying files etc.

Are there any other monitors that offer the ability to drift the mouse from the left to right and automatically switch computer without the need for software on both ?

Or what about a hotkey feature that switches ?

What I dont want is to have to start fiddling with buttons / on screen displays etc each time I go from one computer to the other.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Remote desktop is a windows feature so you wouldn't need to install anything.

Remote desktop, or an application like TightVNC.

Here, the main system is the browser window here.
The small inset at bottom right is my HTPC, connected via TightVNC.
