Question Using a transfer cable, what do I move from my old computer to my new computer

I just bought a new computer and a transfer cable.

I want to copy all my work files (about 1 tb, including documents, photos, and videos) from the C: drive of my old computer to the D: drive of my new computer.

Should I simply copy everything including name of user in the path C:/users/name of user? (All my work files and critical settings are in that path.)

NOT the Libraries of the whole /User/You/ folder.

Personally, I would just connect both systems to the house LAN, shared folder, and copy as desired.

Or, save to an external drive of some sort.
Copy to the new system.
