I have a VDSL2 connection at home but I only have an ADSL modem. Will I be able to connect to the internet even if it means getting ADSL speeds or will I have issues with ADSL synchronization?

I can't test it right now because I won't be home for a couple of days and I'm wondering if I have to buy a new modem.

Doesn't matter what lights on ADSL modem does on a VDSL, it won't work if it doesn't support VDSL.

I tried it just now. Inserted my VDSL signal carrying RJ11 jack in the socket behind my older ADSL modem. The DSL LED keeps blinking indefinitely. So, it doesn't recognize the signal and doesn't work.
