Using an i3 cooler on an i5?

So I recently shipped my computer, and in the process, the CPU cooling fan broke, so I ordered a replacement. It's the same socket as the old one, but slightly different. It doesn't have copper as far as i can tell, and on the sticker, the old one had 12V DC and 0.60A, where as this one has 12V DC, but only 0.17A. Are these fans interchangeable?

The I5 cooler on my i3 4130 is a lot 'lighter', than the cooler on my i5 4690K; I would not expect it to cool so well.

Are these both Intel stock coolers?

I have six stock coolers at home.

2 x G3258
1 x 4130
1 x 4590
1 x 4690K
1 x 1231v3

(and a 4790K at school)

All of the coolers have 12V 0.28A on them, and all but the 4130 cooler seem to be identical. with the copper slug, and the same number of fins.

The i3 cooler has no copper and fewer fins.

What models of i3 and i5 are you talking about?

Yeah, they're advertised on Amazon here, the only difference I can notice is the Amps, and the lack of copper.

I checked a system at school. The older i5s have a cooler with 0.60A draw marked and fewer aluminum fins, but with the copper slug.

The new generation Haswell Refresh, CPUs have the newer 0.28A cooler with more fins. I don't know about i3s because mine is an 'early' version.
