So I want to use my Avermedia to display the game that I am playing without using my CPU or anything like that. Here's what I'm running:

  • Display Port plugged into my graphics card running to a DP splitter
Display Port cable running to my monitor
Display Port to HDMI cable running to my Avermedia
The Avermedia doesn't have anything plugged into the "HDMI Out" because I want to keep my frame rate. Hence why I'm using a Display Port splitter. The issue is that the Capture card comes up as it's own monitor and just records my blank wallpaper as if it were its own monitor and my mouse will show up on it and everything. I just want it to record my one screen using a splitter.

Solution
Eureka! I figured it out. I used everything that Avermedia provides in their box (plus a display port cable, DVI Cable, and 3.5mm Jack Y-Splitter).

  • Plug in the HDMI Cable they give you from your graphics card to the "HDMI-IN" on the capture card.
Plug in the HDMI to DVI adapter they give you into another HDMI port into the "HDMI-OUT" slot on the capture card.
Connect your Own DVI Cable to the adapter and plug it into your monitor.

Now everything works properly but your limited to 60 FPS.

Plug in your own display port cable and run it to your monitor.
Make sure your monitor is running at 144Hz and duplicate the Avermedia driven monitor with your Displayport monitor using "Screen Resolution". There you have it! recording at 60 FPS...
A video splitter makes more sense with analog video signals, where you can just send the same signal out multiple ports and amplify if required.
I suspect your "DP splitter" is actually a DisplayPort MST hub. This allows multiple DisplayPort devices to communicate on a single DisplayPort output, each as its own active device.
You need to output from the graphics card to the Avermedia card using HDMI, then HDMI from the card to your monitor.

Plug in 3.5mm Y-splitter to your PC.
One end goes to your speakers/headset and the other end goes to the "AUDIO-IN" using the 3.5mm cable they provide for you.

Thank you anyway for the help!
