I had a vexing video problem that I could not find an answer for. Everyone was blaming the "broken" 2080ti. So I input the issue into ChatGPT. Come to find out, it was Google Chrome causing the problem. Google must've doinked around with the code, since I've never had problems before.

More happenstance than AI I think.

The words used to "input the issue into ChatGPT" resulted in what seemed to be meaningful results.

ChatGPT, just like Googling, can easily result in bad results if acted upon without further thought and some doublechecking to verify.

Much as would be, or should be, done with real human suggestions and solutions.

Note: Moving thread from Systems to Opinions and Experiences.

More applicable category.

To be honest, a lot of people who try to help with computer issues don't really know enough about computers to make any meaningful suggestions.

For instance, someone complains their RAM usage is through the roof but none of their apps add up remotely close to it. People immediately jump to it being a virus or malware or something (which to be frank, is really useless malware unless it's some weird DoS type thing), even though it was most likely a driver leaking.
